Privacy
At AppraisalBank your trust in us is important. We know privacy is of concern to most Internet users and therefore we want to communicate the circumstances under which we might collect information and how we will use any information you provide us. This privacy policy sets out the information that we collect, the purpose of its collection and the people to whom we might reveal that data.
For Appraiser Members and Mortgage Lender Members:
We ask you to complete a form providing information for your member page and for our databases. This information is then associated with your User and Password log-in . By collecting this information we are able to provide this data in the appraisal order form so that you do not have to re-enter it each time you complete an appraisal order request. In addition, from time to time we will offer a poll to find out more about how we might improve the site for your benefit or to start discussion on issues that may impact your business. In order to vote in these polls, your browser may be required to accept a cookie. This cookie is merely used to determine if you have previously voted in the poll (to prevent duplicate votes) and will be set to expire in a short period of time (probably about 10 days). The cookie does not track your other browsing habits. Contact and company information is also used to provide you with an enhanced or brochure listing in our Appraiser and Lender databases. This information will be searchable by our site visitors. Information of Appraisers with a basic membership is available to lenders searching by name.
For consumers ordering an appraisal:
We may collect certain information in order to process your order and provide your chosen appraiser with contact information for you.
We review our site statistics from time to time. This data tells us the number of users visiting the site each day and if they were referred by another web site. Typically the statistics we review do not allow for identification of individual users, though it might tell us which ISP you use. However, should we obtain this information through our statistics program, we do not retain it and will not share this information with any outsiders except as specified under paragraph 5 below. We review site statistical information to make sure each of our site pages are relevant, useful and render correctly. We like to know which pages are most beneficial and which are not being frequently used so that we may continue to provide the best content in areas of interest to site visitors. Any information about a web site visitor coming into our possession will not be sold, traded or given to anyone outside law enforcement or those we hire to assist us in protecting our site property. The only reason for our revealing information to these entities would be because:
For one reason or another we are compelled under law to provide your personal information. Such as if you have given us an expressed written request to share information to specific people via this web site and/or it's applicable services. Additionally, if a malicious third party attempts to gain unauthorized access to our web site and/or servers, deface web pages, send Spam to our users, servers of the computers of visitors to the site, etc. In this case, we will quickly reveal any and all data available to law enforcement, our security personnel, those that maintain our servers; and/or security experts. We become aware of potentially criminal or harassing behavior by a web site visitor.
